Birth of a New Behaviour

I have learned that how I evaluate my response to an experience in life, is one of the keys to personal growth and development. It's not what happens to me that really matters, it's how I respond to it that matters most, what is of value in this lesson, how may I learn from it, to enhance the quality of my life. Focusing as much as possible on the desired outcome, must become my predominant thought.

I have to learn to work out, exercise in the mind, to train it to be as mentally fit as possible. As I would work out in the gym to become physically fit. Needless to say being disciplined enough to do both. Will help to ensure I work towards being mentally, emotionally , and physically healthy. This in conjunction with my personal spiritual work becomes a holistic approach to achieving, a happy and successful ,on purpose, fulfilling life.

I, Robert, can take control over my unwanted negative thought patterns, by first of all becoming fully aware of them. Then I must want to really change, have the desire, will power, and the discipline to do so, in order to be successful, this must be my predominant life style. To change these negative thought patterns does not mean for one moment that I have to fight with them, or worse be in denial and ignore them. I need to develop, new positive conscious thought patterns, that will now serve my best interest, enabling me to move forward towards my goal of personal growth and renewal.

Given time, patients, and understanding it would seem possible with this process, I can remove unwanted negative thought patterns from my subconscious mind. This helps to reduce or remove many of what have become my unwanted knee jerk conditioned responses. Gaining control-consciously over my mind, and therefore my emotional response. Gives me time to push the pause button, a chance to step back, and be the observer of what is playing out before my eyes. Now in control, I can take the time to choose a new behaviour. This becomes exciting, this new behaviour is the building block, the cornerstone of the birth of, a new experience.

Then I can take the time to further evaluate this new experience, and ask myself does it work for me, how do I feel, and maybe the most important thing of all, is to check in with - what are my intuitive senses telling me. From this place I have the opportunity to go from strength to strength gaining confidence on the journey, increasing self esteem, establishing self worth, and building a new self image. These are the seeds planted in the garden of the mind, out of which a new sense of confidence will blossom.
